Abby & Carsons Time Out

The last day that my sister & Carson were here, Melissa wanted to have a pre-natal massage & pedicure after being so sick, so I watched Carson for her for a few hours. They were very good, but after getting caught standing on the coffee table for a second time, they were both sent to time out. Since they had been warned, and they are well behaved children, they went straight to the chair. Sulky & apologetic faces included. They are so adorably cute, even in time out, I had to take a picture. Here it is.

Family Snow Day

We decided to take the kids out and enjoy the snow. They had a blast, in fact I had to make Abby go in after everyone else had been in for a while. It was her first time to play in the snow, so she had a hard time walking at first. Funny stuff. Originally, she wanted to make snow angels like 'Max & Ruby', but she was having so much fun on the swing & slide that she changed her mind. Btw, the previous post you saw entitled 'Snow Day' was actually posted by my sister & was supposed to go on her blog. Oh well!! FYI, I wasn't able to add a slideshow to my previous post, so check back in with us later, I'm sure I can figure out what went wrong. Love to you all!!! XO P.S. Okay, I'm mad, can't seem to add slideshows of pictures right now, but I can do video, so here's a couple videos of the kids. Enjoy!! P.S.S. People were having trouble leaving comments, but I've got that little quirk fixed. Don't worry that you don't see your comment right away. They get emailed to me & then I post them. I love getting comments though, so be sure to leave one! Thank you!!

Family Time With Melissa & Carson

Our family has been busy and very well entertained this last week. My sister Melissa and my nephew Carson came to visit us. The visit was bitter sweet because my sister started not feeling well, but that meant they got to stay with us a little longer than planned since she was unable to drive. It didn't last long and fortunately wasn't serious, so we still had a very good time with them. They left after a week and we miss them very much. Abby & Carson especially. :)

Snow Day

The following was accidently posted on my blog by my sister Melissa instead of hers. It's alot like my own post, but I don't have the heart to delete it. So in case you get a little confused & not sure who Nick is, that should clear it up for you!
We took the kids to play in the snow today and had TONS of fun!!!! They went down the snow covered slide, played on the swing set, used the the shovel in the snow, and just had an over all great time. I love that we got a chance to come up here to see "Our Abby" and play. It's been so much fun!

This first picture is for Nick...Like Father, LIke Son. Remember last year when your truck got stuck in Wyoming?? Carson was having the same trouble!! :)

Yeah!! We are all very excited and proud of Abby, most of all Mommy. Abby has finally poopied in the potty!!! Okay, I know it is not near as thrilling to you all as it is to me. But this proud mama would never think of not putting this on the blog. It even gets its own paragraph!

Guys 31st Birthday

Today was Guys 31st birthday. Partly because he has been laid off from AT&T, we just hung around the house and enjoyed being together, warm and in our own home. We did get more snow for a total of at least 1 1/2 feet. A neighbor boy of ours, Michael, asked if we minded for him to shovel our driveway and steps. Well, you can imagine what my response was. After we realized he was in a little over his head, Guy went to help him. Abby decided she wanted to call Nana and later, when Michael decided he'd had enough below zero temperatures, he came in to play with Abby for a while, to which she was exstatic. She loves having company, especially when they're her size. She was so excited to show him her new Christmas presents. We baked Daddy a cake, Abby & Daddy did some B-boppin', played a couple video games and then she went off to bed. One thing I wish I had gotten on video today was her dancing and 'shakin' her booty'. She even had some suggestions for Guy when she made him try. We gotta get that girl into some dance classes, because she's looking like the next Britney. The 'good' Britney anyway. Thank you for checking in with us and may God bless you and your family. P.S. Don't forget to leave us a post!

Lots of snow...& Imagination

We've gotten lots of snow, which we love. What we're not loving is the temperature. It's -2 right now and we have a high of 2 today. One way we stay warm around here is laughing. Abigails imagination is at an all time high. Sometimes she says she's 'Abby Froggy' and I, of course, am 'Mommy Froggy', yet other times she's Louise, and I am Max. She has a vast array of voices for her many 'babies'. She also has been making tracks, gates, music, castles and even eggs; sometimes with actual objects, sometimes make believe objects. One thing that got me by surprise today was this: she was sitting on the potty, looking down at her stomach and she pinched it. I said 'what are you doing?' and she said 'I have a baby sister in my belly, just like 'Nin Nin', who of course is my 7 mo. pregnant sister Melissa. My little munchkin sure is somethin'.

Potty Training

Well, one year and three attempts later, I think we're on our way. Anyone who knows Abby knows how extremely bright she is. Therefore, I thought potty training was going to be a breeze. She loves to do anything that Mommy does and she is very interested in the bathroom; combine that with her intelligence and I thought: "piece of cake". One thing that Abby has a knack of doing is proving me wrong and in this incidence, she did not
disappoint. One thing I failed to take into consideration at this point was the fact that a dirty diaper never bothered Abby as an inffant, and it didn't bother her as a toddler! However, I am happy to report, for two days now, Abby is clearly embarrassed
whenever she has an accident. Also, she made it very clear that instead of her Dora pull-ups, she wanted the Diego version, "just like Cawson". She does like Diego better than Dora, but they look like little boys underwear! She might have a little tomboy in her like her Mommy, besides, when it comes to potty training a VERY stubborn two year old, WHATEVER WORKS! I'm not too worried about the boy thing anyway, she adores her Dora potty seat converter (she likes the big girl pottie better) & is looking forward to her Tinkerbell "unnerware like Mommys".

Playtime!

I got a taste of what a typical day might be in the life of a mother with two toddlers. Melissa & Nick went to Chicago to look at a new vehicle, so we had Carson all to ourselves. Abigail & Carson had an absolute ball and played hard all day long. No one even had to go to the timeout chair. Okay, so it might not have been a 'typical' day of a mother with two wee ones, but Abby & Carson always play very well together. Carson is absolutely a joy to be around and we miss him dearly. P.S. That boy LOVES the Wiggles & pancakes

Abby & Carson: Together Again

We got a very special surprise on New Years Day. Nin (for those of you who don't know, my sister Melissa & I call each other Nin, or Ninny), her husband Nick & my nephew Carson came to stay with us for a couple days. I was thrilled to have them here and Abby is absolutely crazy about her 'Cawson'. Nin is over 30 wks pregnant and was craving homemade cheesy broccoli soup. They didn't get here until that night, so we gabbed, the kids played and the boys video gamed till bed. It was great!

Happy New Year!!!

I know. To all my family, sorry about not posting sooner. It's very intimidating without my sister helping me, but I think I've figured it out and now can do this every day or so. Anyway, this time
I'm going to catch you all up with our family and pics and do a few posts in one day. Starting with New Years Eve. Guys mom and grandmother came down from Chicago and we had a quiet night at home with video games and margaritas. Abby had went to bed at her usual time, but woke up about about an hour before the ball dropped in Times Square. Because her 'Yeahya' & 'Besa Yeahya' were here, and it was New Years Eve, we let her stay up until midnight. We all celebrated 2009 together, with hugs and kisses. I feel very blessed to have had my husband and daughter on each side of me, in our beautiful home, healthy, happy, and together. I hope you all have a wonderful year and may the saddest day of your furture be no worse than the happiest day of your past.
